The Hoxton Vet is a small, independent veterinary practice located in the vibrant neighborhood of Hoxton, central London. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to animal welfare, excellent clinical skills, and a passion for providing outstanding patient care. This is a full-time role with a 40-hour workweek and no weekend shifts, offering a great work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist veterinarians during consultations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Provide high-quality nursing care to in-patients, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and managing post-operative care.
- Conduct routine diagnostic tests, including blood samples, urine analysis, and radiography.
- Educate and advise pet owners on preventative care, nutrition, and post-treatment care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using our practice management software.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilizing equipment and preparing surgical instruments.
- Support the reception team as needed, including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and handling client inquiries.
- Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification and current registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
- Previous experience working in a veterinary practice.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of veterinary nursing procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards animals and their owners.
- Proficient in using computer systems and practice management software.
