We’re seeking an education trustee (Schools/MAT/SLT) to anchor The How2Hub in real school practice. The role ensures alignment with curriculum, Gatsby Benchmarks and inspection frameworks, and supports the adoption of meaningful careers experiences from Year 6 onwards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess proposed programmes for realism and feasibility within the school context.
- Shape how curriculum‑linked experiences fit within timetabling, staffing and workload constraints.
- Identify practical barriers to adoption and advise the board on strategies to overcome them.
- Help the board understand school decision‑making processes and improve the credibility of the platform.
- Work with other trustees to align education delivery with employer engagement and funding activities.
- Support the development of an education‑focused sub‑group or act as a liaison between the board and pilot schools.
- Ensure resources are usable, relevant and easy to adopt for teachers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong, current or recent experience in schools, MAT or senior leadership team (headteacher, deputy head, curriculum lead or senior pastoral leader).
- Practical insight into implementation of initiatives, including timetabling, staff workload, curriculum pressures and new programme roll‑outs.
- Experience delivering careers education, employer engagement or Gatsby Benchmarks preferred.
- Ability to translate strategy into practice and quickly assess realism and learning impact.
- Experience working across multiple schools – within a MAT or local authority – to understand variation and scalability.
- Knowledge of inspection frameworks, accountability measures or whole‑school improvement strategies.
- Commitment to inclusive and accessible delivery, with lived experience of barriers young people face in accessing opportunities.
