The Head of Talent & Resourcing is responsible for developing and driving The Housing Network's (THN) employer brand and employee value proposition by leading all aspects of internal and external talent attraction and sourcing ensuring THN recruits, and retains diverse, values-aligned talent following Safer Recruitment principles and builds rich talent pipelines through the planning and delivery of effective recruitment campaigns, data production and analysis. The Head of Talent & Resourcing partners with the Head of HR, Marketing Manager and Operations leaders to create a seamless people experience from attraction through to onboarding, career development, and retention.
Main Duties - What needs to be done?
- Strategic Talent & Resourcing
- Lead the design and delivery of THN's resourcing strategy to meet current and future workforce needs.
- Develop and maintain THN's Employee Value Proposition (EVP), ensuring it is effectively communicated internally and externally to strengthen employer brand.
- Drive innovative attraction campaigns, digital presence, and recruitment marketing aligned to THN's values and B Corp commitments.
- Work collaboratively with managers to build workforce plans that balance organisational growth with sustainability and values.
- Safer Recruitment & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with safer recruitment principles across all recruitment and selection activity.
- Embed all pre-employment checks (DBS, references, right-to-work, qualifications) and ensure they are consistently and rigorously applied.
- Develop policies, processes, and guidance to embed safer recruitment across the organisation.
- Ensure hiring managers are trained and supported to understand their safeguarding responsibilities in recruitment and selection.
- Monitor and audit recruitment practice to provide assurance of compliance with safeguarding and safer recruitment standards.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Line manage and develop the recruitment team, ensuring capacity, resilience, and progression.
- Build capability across managers through coaching, toolkits, and training on effective, values-driven and safer recruitment.
- Champion inclusive recruitment practices to support diversity, equity, and belonging at THN.
- Data Analytics
- Ensure timely and accurate production and analysis of attraction and sourcing data.
Competencies – Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in leading talent acquisition/resourcing within a fast-paced, values-driven environment.
- Experience planning and executing volume recruitment activity to resource mobilisation programmes.
- Experience of creating stories to drive attraction and sourcing activity.
- Strong understanding of EVP, employer branding, and candidate attraction strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of safer recruitment principles, safeguarding responsibilities, and compliance requirements.
- Experience line managing and developing a team.
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills with senior leaders and managers.
- Commercially aware with an ability to balance growth, compliance, and cultural alignment.
