Role Overview β To go beyond the standard expectation of providing a service for residents with great care, enriching their lives as part of a dedicated supported housing team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring communal areas operate safely and effectively. By cleaning empty properties and maintaining the overall presentation of accommodation and outdoor spaces, you will enhance resident satisfaction. You will have a natural caring approach and professional curiosity, with the ability to identify and report safeguarding concerns. You will also act as an ambassador for The Housing Network, promoting our mission and values, with respect and kindness at the heart of everything we do.
Main Duties β What needs to be done?
- Carry out scheduled work on void properties, including cleaning rooms and communal areas to a high standard and preparing properties for new residents in line with Council targets.
- Remove rubbish correctly and ensure kitchens, laundry rooms, communal and common areas are clean, hygienic and free from hazards.
- Check appliances and areas regularly, report repairs to the maintenance team and carry out sharps sweeps.
- Follow all COSHH and company policies.

- Communicate effectively with residents, their families and colleagues, while liaising with contractors and ensuring their work is completed to a high standard.
Competencies β Who with and your skill level?
Skills β Essential:
- Cleaning experience with a high standard of cleaning, ideally within blocks, multi-room or domestic properties.
- Excellent communication, organisation, IT and reporting skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritise and work under pressure.
- Professional curiosity and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence (Manual).
Knowledge:
- Understanding of Safeguarding, including the ability to identify and report concerns.
- Proven experience carrying out cleaning in blocks, multi-room or domestic properties.
Behaviour:
- Present professionally to residents, wearing uniform, ID and relevant PPE.
- Resilient and able to interact with people who have complex needs and challenging behaviours.
- Support colleagues and maintain a strong compliance culture while working towards shared objectives.
