The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

This is a part time role of 15-25 hours per week. The primary role would be to act as a primary read coder and a clinical correspondence lead for the practice.

Main duties of the job:

  • Act as the primary read coder and a clinical correspondence lead for the practice.
  • Take a supporting role in the administration of the Quality Outcomes Framework (QoF) and Locally Commissioned Services (LCS).
  • Support the Practice Manager and other administrators in the administration of searches, claims and recalls for the practice.
  • Carry out necessary administrative tasks and responsibilities, i.e. cytology recalls, screening recalls, registration of patients, etc.

There are three sites which make up The House Partnership between Greystone House Surgery, Caterham Valley Medical Practice and The Moat House Surgery. This role is based at Moat House Surgery, Worsted Green, Merstham, RH1 3PN. Cross-site working between the Redhill and Caterham sites may occasionally be required. We are a forward thinking, well organised training practice with a high reputation for quality and standards. Job responsibilities:

  • Take a lead role (in partnership) to provide the clinical correspondence Workflow Optimisation system.
  • Read code correspondence into the building on behalf of the clinical and administrative staff including 3rd party correspondence and summarising of new patient records, recording significant and past medical history.
  • Provide general administrative support to the practice.
  • Have a basic knowledge of Quality Outcomes Framework (QoF) and Locally Commissioned Services.
  • Maintain self and team professionalism.
  • Assist with the gathering of statistics and information when required.
  • Support team members to recall patients for regular chronic disease reviews.
  • Have a working knowledge of patient screening services, i.e. cervical screening, bowel.
  • Support clinical team in carrying out LCS including advising.
  • Liaise with the medicines management team where appropriate.
  • Support the admin team in implementing new processes and auditing existing processes.

  • Experience of working in a health care setting.
  • Experience as a clinical coder with medical terminology training.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Clear, polite telephone manner.
  • Competent in the use of Office and Outlook.
  • Effective time management (Planning & Organising).
  • Ability to work as a team member and autonomously.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Problem solving & analytical skills.
  • Ability to follow policy and procedure.
  • Medical Terminology.
