We are offering both full & part-time contracts and flexibility, but the role does entail late nights and weekends, in line with the operational timings.

The House of KOKO is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Bar Backs to support our bar team across eight unique bars within a high-energy, late-night members’ club environment. Our venue is a fusion of luxury hospitality, nightlife, and immersive entertainment, offering a dynamic setting that demands seamless service and operational efficiency.

As a Bar Back, you will play a critical supporting role in ensuring the smooth running of all bar operations. You will be responsible for stock management, maintaining high cleanliness standards, and supporting bartenders in delivering exceptional service. Your ability to work efficiently under pressure, anticipate needs, and ensure the bars are fully prepared will directly contribute to the overall guest experience and commercial success of the venue. Role & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all bar stations are fully stocked, prepped, and ready for service, including spirits, mixers, glassware, ice, and garnishes.
  • Work closely with bartenders, anticipating their needs to ensure seamless and efficient drink service.
  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organisation, ensuring all bar areas, storage spaces, and back-of-house sections meet strict hygiene and safety standards.
  • Manage stock levels during service, replenishing supplies in real time to prevent delays and ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Support stock rotation and inventory control, ensuring product freshness and minimising wastage.
  • Handle deliveries efficiently, checking orders against invoices and ensuring items are stored correctly.
  • Assist in preparing garnishes, syrups, and pre-batch cocktails, supporting bar mise en place to streamline service.
  • Collect and clean glassware quickly and efficiently, ensuring bars are always stocked with clean, polished glassware.
  • Monitor and manage bar waste, disposing of items correctly and helping maintain cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, including proper handling of equipment and maintaining a hazard-free workspace.
  • Support bartenders during high-volume periods, stepping in to assist with service flow while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Uphold brand standards and operational procedures, maintaining a professional and proactive approach at all times.

About you:

  • Previous experience in a high-volume bar, nightclub, or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential – a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are key.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, staying organised and composed under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring bars remain fully stocked and service-ready at all times.
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset, able to anticipate needs and respond quickly to changing service demands.
  • Keen interest in the hospitality and nightlife industry, with the ambition to develop and grow within the team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining the highest operational and service standards.
