Copthorne Tara Hotel Kensington is looking for a full-time HR Assistant to join our professional and supportive HR team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a genuine passion for people, HR and hospitality and wants to build a long-term career in Human Resources. We are not necessarily looking for someone who already knows everything about HR. We are looking for the right person: someone who is organised, proactive, curious and keen to learn.

Working within the hotel, you will get hands-on exposure to the everyday running of a busy HR department, from HR administration and recruitment to training, employee engagement and supporting our colleagues throughout their employee journey. This is very much a development role. You will be expected to take ownership of your work, ask questions, learn from the team and gradually build your HR knowledge and experience.

Requirements

  • Support the day-to-day administration of the HR department
  • Prepare HR letters, documentation and employee correspondence
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
  • Support recruitment, including arranging interviews and communicating with candidates
  • Assist with new starter documentation, onboarding and inductions
  • Support training and development activities across the hotel
  • Help organise employee engagement, recognition and wellbeing initiatives
  • Support HR projects and activities throughout the year
  • Assist with maintaining training and compliance records
  • Respond to general employee and manager HR queries, with support from the HR team
  • Work closely with colleagues and managers across all hotel departments
  • Support the HR team with general administration and other HR activities as required

What We’re Looking For

  • Genuinely passionate about developing a career in HR
  • Interested in hospitality and working in a busy hotel environment
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Proactive and comfortable taking initiative
  • A self-starter who looks for what needs to be done rather than always waiting to be asked
  • Reliable and able to manage different priorities
  • Confident communicating with people at all levels
  • Approachable, professional and comfortable dealing with confidential information
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new systems
  • Keen to learn, develop and take on more responsibility over time

Previous HR or hospitality experience would be useful, but attitude, potential and willingness to learn are equally important.

Working Pattern

  • This is a full-time, hotel-based position working: 40 hours per week, 5 days per week
  • Based at Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington
  • This is an operational HR role, so you will be working alongside the team in the hotel rather than remotely.

Benefits

  • A genuine opportunity to start and develop your HR career
  • Hands-on experience across different areas of Human Resources
  • Support and development from an experienced hotel HR team
  • Clear opportunities to learn and take on more responsibility
  • Training, development and apprenticeship opportunities
  • Social events, wellbeing initiatives and team activities
  • Meals on duty
  • Free laundry and dry cleaning
  • Employee discounts on accommodation and F&B
  • Interest-free season ticket loan
  • Life assurance
  • Recommend a Friend Scheme
  • Length of service-related benefits and holiday increases
