We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist with extensive post‑graduate professional development in neurological physiotherapy and experience in intensive care to join our team.

Main duties of the job:

  • The inpatient therapies team provides specialist assessment and treatment to patients admitted to the wards, when clinically indicated.
  • Our aim is to deliver evidence‑based, high quality care, achieved through a clear governance strategy, service planning, development and multidisciplinary team working.

Job responsibilities:

  • Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own professional activities in line with the standards of the Hospital, department, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Have overall accountability for the planning and management of a complex caseload, including neuro rehabilitation patients with complex neurological deficits.
  • Utilise specialist level clinical reasoning to assess and treat patients with acquired stroke and other common neurological conditions.
  • Provide goal‑oriented neuro rehabilitation, promoting functional independence and long‑term recovery.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of clinical governance, particularly within neuro rehabilitation settings.
  • Be responsible for managing own time effectively.
  • Comply with HCPC, CSP codes of ethics and professional conduct, national guidelines and hospital policies and procedures.

Person Specification:

  • BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent diploma.
  • HCPC registration for physiotherapy.
  • Evidence of post‑graduate professional development in the medical physiotherapy specialism.
  • Experience at Band 6 level and above.
  • Experience in intensive care.
  • Experience working across different inpatient specialties (e.g., orthopaedic, respiratory, neurological, post‑surgical).
  • Extensive experience of MDT working within neuro rehabilitation settings.
