This role sits in the Commercial department's marketing team at The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth, a charitable private hospital in London. The role centres on relationships with consultants, GPs, allied health professionals and local businesses who can refer patients, including running events and promoting GP education. It also means analysing financial and activity data to drive referrals for both self-pay and private medical insurance patients. Independent hospital sector experience and a degree or equivalent business development background are essential.
What the job involves
- Manage relationships with consultants, prioritising them and allocating resources to each
- Help consultants make best use of their time, maximising capacity and efficiency
- Take part in new consultant inductions and set up their practice
- Lead specialty-specific projects to develop best-practice services
- Work with consultant leads to run specialty meetings that are well attended and aligned to the hospital's strategic direction and MAC
- Run regular events to engage GPs and consultants
- Gather market intelligence to support new initiatives
- Collate feedback on services provided and report it to the team
- Promote the GP educational programme and run related events
- Analyse financial and activity data to shape activity that drives business
- Build links with local businesses to raise awareness and referrals for self-pay and PMI patients
What’s required
Qualifications
- Degree-level education, or equivalent business development experience
Experience
- At least 1 year of business development or sales experience
- Independent hospital sector experience
- Evidence of managing projects collaboratively and professionally, including under pressure
Skills & knowledge
- Working knowledge of independent hospitals
- Works independently, takes decisions and knows when to seek guidance
- Delivers to deadlines
