The Outpatient Department is often a patient’s first experience of the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. We aim to deliver first‑class standards of care where the patient is at the centre of every decision. We have a strong team who strives to deliver our vision and values every day.
Main duties of the job:
- The department has 25 consulting rooms with equipment specific to the various specialties we support and is in spacious, comfortable surroundings.
- We offer all staff the opportunity to support various specialty clinics and have a minor procedure room where we undertake some further procedures under local anaesthetic.
About us:
The department offers both pre‑ and post‑operative appointments and a variety of other medical and general specialties. Located in leafy St Johns Wood on the Jubilee line, minutes from Central London, all profits fund our on‑site Hospice, St Johns.
Job responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality surrounding patient admission and treatment at all times.
- Ensure documentation is completed accurately and within agreed timescales using Hospital‑approved documentation, in line with NMC and Hospital guidelines.
- Have knowledge of and adhere to ward and Hospital policy and professional standards; ensure that team members do likewise.
- Provide excellent, evidence‑based nursing care for patients.
- Ensure each patient is assessed, and that their care is planned, implemented and evaluated, with accurate documentation.
- Participate in effective communication between all members of the multidisciplinary team, other hospital departments, relatives and visitors.
- Ensure quality care is given by being familiar with agreed standards of care and informing seniors if the required standard cannot be reached.
