An opportunity to volunteer with well-loved and respected local charity Hospiscare in the role of Transport Support Volunteer. Hospiscare is looking for Transport Support volunteers across Okehampton, Mid Devon, Budleigh and Exmouth. Our Community Teams support patients in their homes and at Hospiscare sites and this role is designed for practical support in this by transporting items between locations.
Typical activities include:
- Collect and deliver paperwork or equipment for clinical and support departments
- Collect and deliver prescriptions and medication
- Offer ‘on call’ times where you can be contacted to provide support
- Assist with periodic or reactive low level maintenance tasks where possible
What we’re looking for:
- Respond in a timely manner to requests for help from Community Teams
- Respect confidentiality and show utmost discretion
- Be reliable
- Drive your own car safely
What we offer:
- An experienced ‘buddy’ to help you settle in
- Regular group supervision within the Community team (minimum four times per year)
- Opportunities for one-to-one discussions
- Informal review after six months of volunteering
- Volunteering review after three years of volunteering
- Reimbursement of travel and out of pocket expenses
