The Horton Inn is a recently refurbished, dog-friendly country pub and hotel, located on the outskirts of the New Forest and just a short drive from the beautiful Dorset Jurassic coast. We serve delicious traditional pub grub in our restaurant and bar area, as well as offering several en-suite rooms for anyone wishing to spend the night or looking for a well-deserved break.

Purpose of the Job

To maintain a consistently high standard of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene throughout guest bedrooms and associated areas, ensuring guests receive a comfortable, safe, and welcoming experience at all times. The Housekeeper plays an important role in supporting the hotel’s reputation by delivering efficient room cleaning services in line with company standards and health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and prepare guest bedrooms, bathrooms, and public areas to the required company standard.
  • Change bed linen, make beds, and replenish towels and guest amenities.
  • Vacuum, dust, polish, and sanitize all assigned areas thoroughly.
  • Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns promptly to management.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment and chemicals are used safely and stored correctly.
  • Replenish housekeeping supplies and maintain stock levels within housekeeping trolleys and storage areas.
  • Follow all health, safety, hygiene, and infection control procedures.
  • Respond politely and professionally to guest requests where required.
  • Work efficiently to meet daily room turnaround times and occupancy demands.
  • Handle lost property in accordance with company procedures.
  • Support colleagues and work as part of the wider hotel team to maintain high operational standards.
  • Attend training sessions and follow company policies and procedures at all times.

Job Types: Part-time, zero-hour contract

Benefits: Employee discount

Expected hours: 20-25 hours per week

Schedule: Monday to Sunday. Weekend availability is a must – busiest time of the week.
