Are you an experienced Junior Sommelier with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences? We are seeking a passionate Junior Sommelier to join our new opening, The Horses! Opening in September 2026, The Horses will bring a fresh hospitality offering to Farringdon. Set within a building that has long been part of the local community, the venue will combine a pub atmosphere with exceptional dining, quality drinks, and attentive service across multiple floors.

We are building a team that prides itself on delivering authentic hospitality, who are collaborative and create a genuinely warm, welcoming environment for every guest. This is an opportunity to join a new opening and help shape the venue from day one, becoming part of a business that values quality, teamwork, and a shared passion for great service.

Salary: £13.00 per hour plus service charge (up to £4 - £5 per hour).

What you’ll be doing as a Junior Sommelier:

  • Work closely with the Sommelier to manage our wine list, ensuring it complements our seasonal menu.
  • Provide wine recommendations to guests, enhancing their dining experience.
  • Assist during service with running food and drink orders.
  • Collaborate with the Sommelier to manage wine inventory and ensure proper storage and stock levels.
  • Collaborate with chefs and management to pair wines with our culinary offerings.

About you, our new Junior Sommelier:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a high-end restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • A deep passion for wine and a desire to share your knowledge.
  • Understanding of global wine regions, varietals, and pairing principles.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A friendly, professional, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Familiarity with beer, spirits, and cocktails is a plus.
