Job Description

Due to expansion of club size here at the Horsell Village Afterschool Club we are looking to increase the size of our team. We are looking for playworkers and supervisors to join our current enthusiastic and friendly team and to work across one of our three well established Ofsted registered sites.

\n

As we have multiple roles to fill, we would welcome candidates of varying experiences, including those who are new to childcare to apply.

\n

About you:

\n

· Enjoy working with children and promoting positive play and experiences.

\n

· Have good communication and teamwork skills.

\n

· Are reliable, enthusiastic and approachable.

\n

· Have experience working with children (preferred)

\n

· Hold a relevant childcare qualification and/or first aid certificate (desirable)

\n

Key responsibilities:

\n

· Support and encourage children’s play, creativity and social development.

\n

· Help plan and deliver fun, inclusive and age-appropriate activities.

\n

· Ensure the safety, wellbeing and safeguarding of all children in your care.

\n

· Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.

\n

· Set up and tidy away equipment and resources before and after the session.

\n

· Follow all club policies and procedures, including health and safety reequipments.

\n

We provide an online platform for all staff to complete mandatory training and in house straining for safeguarding and first aid.

\n

Any candidates applying for the role must be a strong team player with the skills and ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, children and parents.

\n

The role of our supervisors is to run one of three club sites and work collaboratively with management. A qualification in childcare (ideally level 3) is a requirement for this role. An understanding of how a childcare provider works and the requirements of Ofsted would be preferred.

\n

Description of role:

\n

· Working as part of a team and leading up to 8 playworkers

\n

· Ensuring that the children have a healthy snack and that the resources at the setting are in good order and replenished

\n

· Carrying out regular risk assessments and ensuring children are provided with diverse activities throughout the session

\n

· Maintaining the register by signing in children and following up on non-attendance

\n

· Liaising with parents and being confident to provide feedback regarding their child

\n

· Managing and escalating safeguarding issues

\n

· Completing accident/incident/behaviour forms and bringing any important matter to the attention of the senior management

\n

· Ensuring that children are kept safe and that rules and behaviour policy of the setting are implemented

\n

· Providing assistance to new staff members

\n

  • Afternoons: 2:30pm – 6:00pm
