Overview
The Peninsula London is seeking a Mixology Studio Bartender to join the beverage department.
This role reports to the Director of Mixology and is responsible for the efficient operations of the Studio, including ensuring cleanliness, inventory management, and the preparation required for bar operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate the Studio in close collaboration with the Director of Mixology and maintain an efficient, clean workspace.
- Carry out regular inventories and manage the cold room, listing preparations and planning workload.
- Prepare for the operation of the bars and rigorously follow recipes to ensure consistency.
- Handle and use various technical equipment (e. g., Centrifuge, micropipette, sous vide machine, thernocirculator, cold press, thermomix scales).
- Assist with health and safety management and maintain time management with the ability to work without close supervision.
- Assist the Director of Mixology and Head Bartenders in creating menu items, recipes and developing cocktails.
- Demonstrate good knowledge of cocktail preparation, including classics and innovative alternatives, with experience in a luxury cocktail bar.
- Understand differing ingredients and how they come together; possess broad awareness of beverage items and the ability to use complex equipment to make beverages.
- Demonstrate precision, high attention to detail, excellent time management, and adaptability; work under pressure as required.
Qualifications
- Experience in a lab or as a bartender of at least 1 year.
- Capability to operate and manage complex equipment for beverage preparation.
- Strong understanding of ingredients and beverage pairing with a focus on consistency and quality.
