The Peninsula London is seeking to hire an influential Director of Finance who has strong experience in leading and strategizing the day to day financial management and control of the operations whilst providing the Executive Committee and Department Heads with relevant, accurate and timely financial reports and information. Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure there are proper accounting procedures in place with sufficient valid supporting information, all of which comply with local government requirements and which are correctly filed and stored.
- Ensure compliance with all terms and conditions of the management/lease agreements and associated legal documents.
- Keep and safeguard all contracts, leases, insurance policies and all legal and financial documents and maintain a suitable “trace” system to ensure that there is sufficient time to consider and renew all contracts.
- Lead the review and preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, monthly profit & loss statements in consultation with the Managing Director and ensure all reports are prepared in accordance with accounting standards (both local and HK GAAP), statutory requirements, hotel industry specific guidelines and Head Office requirements.
- Ascertain that all taxes, contributions, licenses, interest and management fees are accurately calculated and paid on time; and ensure the timely payment of all valid supplier invoices under the agreed payment schedule.
- Monitor capital expenditure and present viable financial feasibility analysis for new investment proposals.
- Review payroll budgets and FTEs and work with Human Resources on productivity and workforce planning.
- Oversee the procurement function, review all purchase requisitions in accordance with group purchasing policies, and approve all purchases in view of availability of funds, necessity and the budget.
- Hire, develop, motivate, supervise and coach department employees in maintaining a culture in compliance with mission, vision and values HSH.
Job Specifications:
- Degree in hospitality, business or accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience acting in comparable capacity and role.
- 5 years' experience in a management role with a strong inclination to selecting and nurturing talent and building culture.
- Strong knowledge in using payroll, purchasing and accounting systems.
- Thorough local knowledge in accounting control and financial management process.
- Very strong analytical, financial and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and strong organisation.
- Experience working within the United Kingdom.
