We're hiring for Summer 2025! Camp Wediko is looking to hire emerging professionals eager to gain experience working with children and adolescents in a therapeutic camp environment at our beautiful lakeside campus. Temporary Camp Wediko Residential Counselors will work with youth facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The program runs from June 28th to August 18th, 2025.
Position Details
- Camp Residential Counselors will serve as Direct Care staff, Assistant Teachers, or Activities Instructors, working in teams of 6-8 under the supervision of a Clinical Supervisor.
- Responsibilities include engaging with youth throughout the day—from waking up to bedtime routines—and facilitating activities such as archery, swimming, athletics, canoeing, dance, art, music, kayaking, brain games, nature exploration, and mountain biking.
How You’ll Be Making A Difference
- Creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where youth can identify strengths and develop new skills.
- Providing direct care and supervision for youth in your cabin group.
- Participating in daily group therapy sessions led by the Cabin Group Supervisor.
- Supporting youth treatment goals through individual therapeutic and behavioral interventions.
- Establishing consistent routines and structures to promote a predictable environment.
- Modeling respectful communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- Engaging in recreational activities and providing coaching and scaffolding as needed.
- Applying approved behavior management and de-escalation techniques.
- Seeking feedback for professional growth from Clinical Supervisors.
- Responding to emergencies in accordance with agency policies, including reporting safety concerns.
- Completing documentation such as incident reports and progress notes.

Abilities Required
- This role requires the ability to navigate rugged outdoor terrain and engage in active recreational activities in varying weather conditions typical of New Hampshire summers, including heat, humidity, and rain.
- Physical capability to bend, hold, and lift is also necessary.
- Transportation to designated pick-up and drop-off locations (Manchester airport, Boston Logan airport, or direct campus transport) is required.
