Job Overview
Pertemps are recruiting Van Drivers to join a busy automotive distribution operation based in Redditch. Both day and night shifts are available. The role involves loading and delivering fragile products to customers nationwide. Due to the nature of the loads, this is a physically demanding, hands-on position requiring candidates to be fit, reliable, and comfortable with regular lifting.
Shift Details
- Day Shifts: Monday to Friday, 9:30am - 5:30pm
Pay: £13.77 per hour, increasing to £14.29 after 12 weeks - Night Shifts: Four shifts across a six-night rota
Sunday to Thursday: 8:00pm - 7:30am
Friday: 6:00pm - 5:30am
No Saturday-night working
Pay: £14.68 per hour, increasing to £14.81 after 12 weeks
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, secure, and transport fragile products
- Complete nationwide, multi-drop deliveries efficiently and professionally
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
- Ensure the vehicle remains safe, clean, and roadworthy
- Complete all deliveries accurately and within required timescales
- Assist with warehouse duties, loading, and stock handling when needed
- Follow all company health and safety procedures
- Work flexibly to support changing operational requirements
Requirements
- Must be at least 25 years old for insurance purposes
- Full UK driving licence with fewer than six penalty points
- Previous van-driving experience
- Multi-drop experience
- Must be physically fit
- Flexible and reliable approach to working hours
- Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Redditch
