Salary: Outer London Main/Upper Pay Range plus TLR 2/2: £5,796 per annum.

The Governors and Headteacher wish to appoint an engaging, enthusiastic and proactive Head of Girls' Physical Education to lead on high quality provision for our students, with a specific focus on motivating and increasing participation in girls' PE. The successful applicant may have prior experience of middle leadership or be seeking to take the next step in their teaching career. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is committed to inspiring and motivating students through their innovative and engaging teaching.

Hollyfield School has an extensive CPD programme which offers regular training sessions to enhance teachers' classroom practice, led by staff from within the school and the wider Multi Academy Trust. The school is located in Surbiton, Outer London, with excellent transport links and a thriving sixth form. Hollyfield is part of the Every Child, Every Day Multi Academy Trust and has strong relationships with its Trust partners. Following the 2025 visit, Ofsted inspectors noted: “Pupils value their learning and relish the other important opportunities the school provides. These include many creative, sporting and performance activities.”

Essential Criteria

  • QTS;
  • a broad base of subject knowledge;
  • the ability to teach across Key Stages 4 and 5;
  • a clear vision for a knowledge-rich curriculum;
  • a clear understanding of successful classroom practice and evidence-based teaching;
  • employs a range of teaching and learning strategies;
  • the ability to work effectively as part of a curriculum team;
  • the ability to maintain good classroom behaviour;
  • effective interpersonal skills;
  • able to demonstrate suitability to work with children and young people.

The trust provides excellent subject-level support, CPD and Leadership CPD through several programmes externally and within the Trust. This role is ideal for an individual who is committed to helping our students achieve their very best. We want the best people for our roles, so while this is primarily a full time post, we recognise that sometimes those best suited to roles on offer aren’t available full time.
