The Junior Account Executive (JAE) is the foundation of Hoffman's client service and communications teams. It is an entry-level role designed to build the essential skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed in a fast-paced PR and marketing consultancy. JAEs provide hands-on support across account administration, media relations, content creation, and research. You will work closely with Account Executives, Account Managers, and other team members to ensure campaigns run smoothly, deadlines are met, and results are captured accurately. This is a learning role — but it is also vital to the success of our clients and our agency. JAEs are the eyes and ears of our teams, spotting opportunities, tracking activity, and ensuring that nothing slips through the cracks.

Responsibilities

  • Account Support & Administration
    • Support day-to-day account activity under the supervision of Account Executives and Account Managers.
    • Set up client meetings and calls, prepare agendas, and take accurate notes and follow-up actions.
    • Maintain client trackers, coverage reports, contact databases, and shared folders.
    • Ensure all documents are organised, updated, and accessible to the account team.
    • Assist with logistics for client events, press interviews, analyst briefings, or media tours.
  • Media Monitoring & Influencer Support
    • Monitor media and social channels daily for coverage, competitor mentions, and emerging stories.
    • Flag relevant news and insights to the team promptly.
    • Research journalists, analysts, and influencers relevant to clients' sectors.
    • Support the preparation and maintenance of accurate media lists.
    • Assist with media monitoring reports and coverage books.
  • Content Support
    • Research and draft first versions of press releases, social media posts, and blogs.
    • Contribute to creative brainstorms and content planning sessions.
    • Support the design and formatting of client reports and presentations.
    • Learn and apply best practice in tone, messaging, and storytelling for each client.
  • Learning, Growth & Collaboration
    • Show curiosity and initiative — ask questions, contribute ideas, and seek feedback.

  • Finance & Process
    • Submit timesheets and expenses accurately and on time.
    • Support account teams with purchase orders, budget tracking, and invoicing where required.

  • Demonstrable passion for communications, PR, or marketing — through work experience, studies, or extracurricular activities.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn about technology, media, and client industries.
  • Team-oriented, positive, and dependable under pressure.
  • Confident using social media and basic digital tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.) and GenAI tools (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, etc.).
  • A natural relationship builder — respectful, open, and collaborative.
