We are working with an established organisation is looking for a Vehicle & Plant Technician to join its team in Northampton. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of vehicles and plant, helping to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and compliant with relevant standards.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs on vehicles and plant.
- Inspect vehicles in line with Department for Transport standards and complete relevant inspections and reports.
- Service and maintain vehicles and plant in line with manufacturer recommendations.
- Help minimise equipment downtime, including de-fleeting vehicles and plant when required.
- Raise work orders, process inspection and service reports, and order parts through the relevant system.
The ideal candidate
- City & Guilds qualification in light or heavy vehicle mechanics.
- Extensive experience repairing and maintaining commercial vehicles and plant.
- Experience using fleet management systems and confidence with computer-based systems.
- A strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements, with the ability to make cost-effective decisions without compromising safety.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external suppliers.
