Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Grounds Maintenance Technician to oversee and support a team delivering high-quality grounds maintenance services across multiple client sites. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for organising daily workloads, maintaining high standards, and ensuring excellent customer satisfaction. You will lead by example, working alongside your team while ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a professional standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, organise, and supervise a small team daily
- Ensure all scheduled work is completed efficiently and to a high standard
- Carry out general grounds’ maintenance duties, including:
- Grass cutting, strimming, edging, and lawn care
- Hedge cutting, pruning, and weed control
- Litter picking and site clearance
- Operate machinery including triple gang mowers
- Carry out sports line marking where required
- Ensure full compliance with company policies and site rules
- Maintain high standards of safety, presentation, and behaviour
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
- Ensure tools and equipment are used correctly and maintained
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Trailer experience (required)
- PA1 & PA6 certifications (required)
- Proven experience in a grounds maintenance or landscaping role
- Experience operating triple gang mowers (essential)
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Physically fit and capable of manual work
- Strong attention to detail and ability to lead by example
- Reliable, organised, and proactive
