A great permanent opportunity has arisen for a practical and detail-focused Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for our client based in Cambridge. The role involves delivering mechanical PPM across a range of buildings on one site, along with reactive maintenance and compliance support, and supporting the Facilities Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver planned mechanical and HVAC maintenance across multiple buildings
- Respond to and resolve reactive maintenance tasks as they occur
- Support statutory compliance activities where trained, such as emergency lighting checks and fire damper inspections
- Ensure all tasks are completed in line with current health and safety legislation and internal procedures
Essential Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as a site-based engineer within a large, multi-building environment
- Strong plumbing background with NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
- Experience maintaining HVAC systems
- Proven track record in delivering compliance maintenance within commercial or public buildings
- Good understanding of Legionella control requirements, ACOP L8 and water hygiene best practice
- Ability to produce clear, accurate compliance documentation
- Confidence using handheld devices or CAFM systems
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- WRAS approval
- Gas Safe registration
- Legionella Awareness Training (City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Experience with TMV maintenance, dead-leg identification, and water sampling
- CSCS or similar site safety card
