Together with our client based in Melbourn, we are looking for a facilities assistant to join their lovely small team. This role offers the chance to play an active part in keeping a cutting-edge innovation hub running smoothly. It’s hands-on, varied, and central to ensuring the site remains safe, efficient and ready for world-class work to take place. No two days are the same, and flexibility is key.
Main duties:
- Help maintain a clean, safe and well-organised environment across a busy, dynamic site.
- Support the delivery of facilities services and routine maintenance.
- Carry out general site tasks and minor repairs that keep operations moving.
- Receive, log and distribute deliveries to teams across the centre.
- Assist with on-site contractors and oversee associated works.
- Keep work areas compliant with health and safety standards.
- Support internal office moves and space changes.
- Provide workstation and DSE guidance once trained.
- Prepare and reset meeting rooms and shared spaces.
- Complete regular safety and housekeeping checks.
- Act as an emergency contact for occasional out-of-hours issues.
- Take on ad hoc tasks that come with running a large, innovative facility.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a facilities or similar role.
- Basic understanding of health and safety.
- Strong communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently and within a team.
- Aware of building maintenance and confident with small repairs.
- Forklift licence desirable but not required (training offered).
- Practical skills like electrical, plumbing or carpentry are a bonus.
