We're working with an established organisation that is looking for a skilled technician to join its team in Northampton. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in keeping a diverse fleet of vehicles and plant safe, reliable, compliant and ready for operation.

What you'll be doing
As a Vehicle & Plant Technician, you'll be responsible for the preventative maintenance, servicing and repair of a varied fleet.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs on vehicles and plant.
- Inspecting vehicles in accordance with Department for Transport standards, completing all relevant inspections and reports.
- Servicing and maintaining vehicles and plant in line with manufacturer recommendations.
- Helping to minimise equipment downtime and supporting the de-fleeting of vehicles and plant when required.
- Raising work orders and processing inspection and service reports.
- Ordering parts through the relevant fleet management system.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
What we're looking for
We're looking for a technically capable and safety-conscious technician who can hit the ground running.
You'll ideally have:
- A City & Guilds qualification in Light or Heavy Vehicle Mechanics.
- Extensive experience repairing and maintaining commercial vehicles and plant.
- Experience working with fleet management systems and confidence using computer-based systems.
- A strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
- The ability to make practical, cost-effective decisions without ever compromising safety.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers and external partners.
