Looking for a stable, long-term technician role with great work-life balance and no weekend rota? We’re recruiting for a Fleet Technician to join a busy workshop maintaining a varied fleet of commercial vehicles and specialist equipment. This is a permanent, workshop-based role offering Monday–Friday working only, no breakdown call-outs, and the opportunity to work within a supportive and well-established team where your skills and experience will genuinely be valued.
The fleet includes:
- Vans and commercial vehicles of varying sizes
- Tankers
- Tractors
- Telehandlers
- Plant and specialist equipment
The role is predominantly vehicle-focused, although experience with either commercial vehicles or plant machinery will be considered.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out planned servicing, inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Diagnosing faults and completing preventative maintenance work
- Ensuring vehicles and equipment remain safe, compliant, and operational
- Using workshop and fleet systems to complete service records and work orders
- Ordering parts and supporting efficient workshop operations
- Occasionally travelling to nearby sites for workshop support when required
What We’re Looking For
We’re open to candidates from either a vehicle or plant background, provided you have relevant qualifications and hands-on maintenance experience. You’ll ideally have:
- City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance, Plant, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
- Experience working on commercial vehicles, plant, agricultural, or specialist equipment
- Strong fault-finding and maintenance skills
- Good awareness of Health & Safety procedures
- Basic IT skills for maintenance records and workshop systems
- A proactive and team-focused attitude
