We are seeking an exceptional and visionary Director of Learning to join the Executive Leadership Team and help shape the future of alternative provision across West Sussex. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced senior leader who is passionate about inclusive education, SEND, SEMH provision, and improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
The Role
- You will provide strategic leadership across WSAPCs curriculum offer, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil achievement across all provisions.
- Working closely with the Executive Headteacher and Heads of School, you will:
- Lead curriculum development and quality of education across the college
- Drive school improvement, inclusion, and staff development
- Support and challenge senior and middle leaders to achieve outstanding outcomes
- Promote trauma-informed, relational, and inclusive practice across all settings
- Oversee pupil progress, attendance, behaviour, and engagement strategies
- Develop innovative and accessible curriculum pathways, including vocational provision
- Work collaboratively with schools, external agencies, and multi-disciplinary teams
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds QTS/QTLS and has successful senior leadership experience
- Has a strong understanding of SEND, SEMH, and alternative provision
- Is passionate about inclusive and trauma-informed education
- Can inspire, lead, and develop staff teams effectively
- Has experience driving school improvement and curriculum innovation
- Is resilient, strategic, and committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable pupils
