We are seeking a Chef De Partie to join a fantastic team in Cambridge. You will oversee kitchen operations in collaboration with the Head Chef and Sous Chefs, ensuring all HACCP, food safety, and health & safety protocols are implemented and maintained daily. Responsible for delivering food consistently to agreed quality standards and specifications.
We are looking for someone who is creative and passionate about food, can work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines, has strong interpersonal and communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail and maintains high standards at all times. The role involves the preparation and cooking of main courses and side order items as required, following recipes and ensuring that food is prepped at least one day in advance. It is essential that the kitchen section remains free of all major allergy ingredients and avoids the use of processed ingredients or additives.
The post holder will follow daily preparation lists and produce food based on the par levels set by the Head Chef or Sous Chef. The Kitchen Team Member is also responsible for ordering goods, helping to control food costs effectively and reduce waste wherever possible. It is expected that dietary and allergen information for each dish is communicated clearly to the Head Chef, Deputy Head Chef, or Sous Chef.
In addition, the role includes supporting the planning, implementation, and delivery of departmental objectives under the direction of the senior kitchen team. The post holder will also assist in the supervision of kitchen porters, helping to maintain a well-organised and efficient kitchen environment.
The ideal candidate will hold NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Professional Cookery, along with a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. Additional training in HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) is expected. Minimum two years working experience.
37.5 hours per week on a shift system covering seven days, including evenings and weekends.
