Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Pastry Chef to join their dynamic kitchen team. You will play a key role in delivering exceptional pastry offerings and creating a memorable experience for Fellows, students, staff, and guests. You will also assist in the development of seasonal menus and contribute to the overall success of the kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring the highest quality across all pastry and dessert offerings.
- Coordinating the preparation and presentation of all pastries and desserts.
- Assisting in the daily production to meet service requirements.
- Contributing to the development of seasonal menu offerings and pastry dishes.
- Supporting food cost control measures to enhance F&B revenue.
- Maintaining compliance with food hygiene standards, allergen regulations, and safety protocols.
- Managing and organising the pastry section, ensuring cleanliness, stock control, and budget adherence.
- Assisting with the design and creation of pastry items for conference menus.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy pastry area.
- Upholding personal hygiene standards and ensuring a professional appearance at all times.

- Competitive salary of £29,039 per annum (depending on experience).

Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Relevant pastry or baking qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 706/1 & 2, NVQ 1 & 2).
- A strong eye for detail and exceptional organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A stable 2-3 years of experience in a similar pastry role.
- A good understanding of HACCP, COSHH, and allergen legislation.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work well within a team and contribute to a positive kitchen environment.
Desirable:
- Experience within a similar environment, such as a college or conference venue.
