We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Services Supervisor on behalf of a well-established organisation with a large and complex estate in Cambridge. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the delivery of mechanical, plumbing and gas-related maintenance services across a busy operational environment. The role would suit someone who has progressed from a plumbing, heating or mechanical services background into a more senior supervisory or management-focused position. Whilst technical knowledge remains important, the key focus is around managing engineers and contractors, overseeing compliance and ensuring high standards across planned and reactive maintenance operations.

Duties Include:

  • Managing and supervising a team of mechanical, plumbing and gas engineers
  • Overseeing planned and reactive maintenance delivery across the estate
  • Managing contractors and ensuring compliance with gas and mechanical service standards
  • Leading workload planning, quality assurance and health & safety processes
  • Supporting hands-on mechanical and plumbing works where required

The successful candidate will have:

  • Substantial people management experience within mechanical services, plumbing or maintenance environments
  • Strong knowledge of gas systems, boilers and mechanical services maintenance
  • Experience overseeing contractors, compliance processes and service delivery
  • A background within plumbing, heating or mechanical services, with progression into leadership roles
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
