We are representing a leading organisation that delivers world-class, global data centre solutions. The business specialises in mechanical and electrical (M&E) and connectivity design, bespoke manufacturing, construction, and installation services. With extensive technical expertise, they also provide consultancy, technical and critical cleaning, electronic security, and managed services to support the full lifecycle of modern data centres. Within the organisation, the ACCS department focuses on the design, manufacture, and installation of aisle containment and caging solutions for data centre environments. Our client is seeking a 3D Modeller and CAD/CAM Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This role provides the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of engineering processes, build strong product knowledge, and support the Engineering Manager in delivering high-quality design and production outputs.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Produce accurate CAD drawings in line with client specifications and project requirements.
- Generate production and fabrication drawings using CAD/CAM software.
- Conduct detailed site surveys within data centre environments, including taking precise measurements of data halls for cage, Cold Aisle Containment (CAC), and Hot Aisle Containment (HAC) layouts.
- Convert site survey data and measurements into accurate CAD layouts, models, and production information.
- Collaborate with design engineers on the development of new products and improvements to existing solutions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across products and manufacturing processes.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
- Work independently to develop practical engineering solutions where required.
- Maintain strict business and client confidentiality, adhering to Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards.
- Represent the organisation professionally when working with internal teams, clients, and third parties.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong AutoCAD skills, with the ability to produce accurate 2D layout and fabrication drawings.
- Good computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of engineering principles.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work and changing priorities.
- Formal engineering qualification (or equivalent experience).
Desirable:
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor and/or Radan.
