About us

The Hireman is a growing, independent tool hire company, supplying professional contractors across London, the Home Counties, and beyond. Founded in 1985, we’ve built an excellent reputation for service, reliability, and going out of our way to help our customers.

The role

You’ll be part of our wider sales team, reporting to our Commercial Director, with a primary focus on growing our West depot (Park Royal).

  • Getting The Hireman on every relevant site within the depot’s service area.
  • Using your existing contacts and relationships to expand our customer base.
  • Proactively finding new opportunities through cold calls, site visits, networking, and referrals.
  • Negotiating and closing deals that deliver real value for both sides.
  • Managing and growing key accounts.
  • Hosting and entertaining clients – from depot visits and coffee catch-ups to sports events, dinners, and more.
  • Handling enquiries, quotes, and day-to-day support.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven track record in hire or construction-related sales.
  • A solid work history showing commitment, integrity, and progression.
  • Strong network of industry contacts.
  • Team player who thrives on collaboration and values working closely with depot colleagues.
  • Friendly, confident, and commercially focused.
  • Good with numbers, words, and tech.
  • Positive attitude and a sense of humour.

What’s on offer

  • Excellent salary (negotiable depending on experience).
  • Uncapped target/profit related bonus scheme worth 20%+ of salary.
  • Company vehicle or car allowance.
  • Enhanced contributory Workplace Pension.
  • Health Cash Plan with virtual GP service.
  • 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday working hours.
  • Free tool hire for personal use and staff discount on purchases.
  • Fresh fruit, snacks, and drinks in our depots.
  • Regular social events and company parties.
  • A Christmas turkey (or alternative seasonal gift).

So, if you’re a natural deal-maker with strong industry relationships – and you want to work for a company where your efforts are recognised and rewarded – please apply now.
