We are recruiting for an experienced Tooling Engineer to join an established manufacturing business.
This is a hands-on role responsible for the maintenance, repair and continuous improvement of tooling across the site.
The Role You will be responsible for
- Planned and preventative maintenance of press tools, flying shears and die-cutting equipment.
- Responding to tooling breakdowns and carrying out fault finding and repairs.
- Managing tooling spares, stock levels and tooling locations.
- Liaising with Production, Planning, suppliers and external contractors.
- Supporting the use of CMMS systems and maintaining accurate maintenance records.
- Identifying repeat tooling issues and implementing improvements.
- Improving tool reliability, MTBF and tool wear life.
- Supporting the ongoing development and improvement of the toolroom. About You The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working with press tooling and flying shears.
- Strong mechanical and hand-fitting skills.
- Experience using lathes, milling machines and surface grinders.
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
- Experience working within a manufacturing/toolroom environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with suppliers.
- A confident approach to using IT; CMMS experience would be advantageous.
- BTEC or equivalent engineering qualification.
