A leading provider of power distribution and electrical infrastructure solutions is seeking an experienced Head of Sales to lead the continued growth of its Energy Services division across the South of the UK. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional with strong experience in energy services, utilities, electrical engineering, or industrial infrastructure. You’ll take ownership of sales strategy, revenue growth, customer engagement, and team performance within a business operating at the forefront of the energy transition.
The Opportunity
As UK Sales Manager, you’ll lead a high-performing commercial team focused on delivering technical engineering and asset lifecycle solutions across industrial and utility markets. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on commercial engagement, requiring someone capable of developing long-term customer relationships while driving profitable growth. You’ll work closely with Operations, Engineering, Commercial, and Senior Leadership teams to shape and execute a sector growth strategy focused on service excellence, recurring revenue, and market expansion. The position is primarily home/field based, with regular travel across the South of the UK and occasionally Ireland along with some potential international travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Energy Services Sales Team, driving a high-performance, customer-focused culture.
- Own the sales budget, forecasting process, and pipeline management across service and engineering opportunities.
- Develop and implement a sector growth strategy aligned to market demand and operational capability.
- Drive growth across HV/LV engineering services, maintenance programmes, retrofits, upgrades, and asset lifecycle solutions.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with industrial customers, DNOs, EPCs, and energy-related organisations.
- Oversee complex tenders, commercial proposals, pricing models, and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure commercially viable and deliverable customer solutions.
- Monitor industry trends including industrial electrification, energy transition, and grid resilience to identify new opportunities.
- Expand recurring revenue streams through long-term service agreements and modernisation programmes.
- Improve sales governance, CRM utilisation, reporting accuracy, and forecasting discipline.
About You
You’ll be an experienced commercial leader with a strong background in technical or engineering-led services preferably within the energy sector. We’re particularly interested in individuals with:
- Proven leadership experience within Energy Services, Utilities, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Services.
- A strong track record of delivering revenue growth and managing complex sales pipelines.
- Experience selling technical service solutions including HV/LV maintenance, upgrades, retrofits, or asset lifecycle services.
- Strong commercial acumen with expertise in bids, pricing, negotiation, and contract governance.
- Experience developing and coaching high-performing sales teams.
- The ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and customers.
- A strong understanding of the UK energy market, including electrification and infrastructure challenges.
- Experience using CRM systems and data-driven sales processes.
