A fantastic opportunity to join an established group of companies within a new and rapidly growing division of the business as a hands-on Quality Manager.
The Quality Manager will be responsible for maintaining and developing the companys quality and environmental management systems in line with group and international standards. The role includes ownership of the New Product Introduction process, resolution of customer quality issues, and leadership in sustainability and compliance systems and activities.
The Quality Manager Role:
- Ensure compliance with the Global Quality System framework, including maintenance, auditing, and policing (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001).
- Lead and manage the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring compliance with the gateway system, feasibility assessment, testing, and product validation.
- Oversee the effective and timely resolution of customer complaints, providing support to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Ensure adherence to internal compliance policies and procedures.
- Champion the companys sustainability agenda, including SBTi commitments, emissions measurement and delivery of sustainable products aligned with customer and market requirements.
- Drive the implementation and management of Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 14064).
- Identify and implement systemic and product-based improvements to enhance business performance.
- Manage a quality team of four including recruitment, appraisal and disciplinary responsibilities.
The Successful Quality Manager Candidate:
- Background in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding and practical experience of maintaining ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems.
- Capability to supervise or manage a small technical team.
- Pragmatic problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply formal quality tools when appropriate.
- A hands-on leadership style with the ability to engage across all levels of the organisation.
- Flexible, adaptable approach more suited to an SME type environment but capable of working within a larger group.
- A qualification within a Quality or Engineering discipline is essential.
- Size and stage of the business means that the person needs to have a genuine dynamic nature
- Willing to learn and develop within Health and safety and compliance systems if not already experienced in these areas.
