An established manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead Environmental, Health & Safety across its operations. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role is critical in ensuring full EHS compliance, driving continuous improvement and embedding a strong health & safety culture within a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) across the business
- Act as the company’s Competent Person for Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation, regulations and best practice
- Maintain ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
- Conduct risk assessments, audits and inspections
- Manage non-conformances, corrective actions and incident investigations
- Deliver structured Health & Safety training to employees and management
- Control and manage contractor safety on site
- Liaise with external bodies, regulators and auditors
- Provide clear, proactive EHS advice to senior management
The Ideal Health & Safety Manager Candidate:
- NEBOSH qualified (essential)
- Proven Snr Health & Safety experience within manufacturing / production Environment
- Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and ISO standards
- Experience leading audits, risk assessments and compliance programmes
- Confident communicator, able to influence at all levels
- Proactive, organised and improvement-driven
