A growing UK engineering manufacturer is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to take full ownership of its end-to-end supply chain operation at its site in the Halifax area. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will review the current supply chain, challenge existing processes, and implement improvements to create a more efficient, cost-effective, and resilient operation. The business is looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas, challenge suppliers, and streamline how materials flow through the organisation.

You will manage a small team and oversee a multi-million-pound global supply chain, working closely with suppliers in China, India, and other international markets, ensuring quality, value, and reliability across sourcing, inventory, logistics, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end supply chain from global sourcing through to delivery
  • Review and improve current supply chain processes and supplier performance
  • Lead supplier value analysis, negotiation, and performance management
  • Optimise inventory, forecasting, and stock control
  • Work closely with production, engineering, quality, and commercial teams
  • Oversee inbound logistics and international supply operations
  • Conduct supplier visits and audits, including international travel (quarterly)
  • Lead and develop a small supply chain team
  • Drive cost efficiency while maintaining quality and delivery performance
What We're Looking For:
  • 5+ years experience in supply chain management within engineering or manufacturing
  • Strong end-to-end supply chain experience
  • Experience working with global suppliers (Far East/India preferred)
  • ERP/MRP system experience
  • Proven experience challenging suppliers and improving supply chain performance
  • Strong leadership and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to bring fresh thinking and improve existing processes
  • Comfortable managing a multi-million-pound supply chain
