Applications are invited from enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals to join our X-Ray Department as a Band 3 Clinical Imaging Assistant. The post will support patients undergoing ultrasound and radiographic examinations, assist procedures when necessary, and ensure health and safety and infection control is adhered to.
Hours and location
The contracted hours are Full Time 37.5 hours per week across seven days. You will be on a shift rota at our Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospital sites.

Main duties
- To provide support to the Imaging service, undertaking patient registration, workload management and assisting in the clinical environment to provide optimum patient care.
- To provide support to the radiologists, radiographers, and sonographers with patient care, and acting as a chaperone in the clinical environment to provide optimum patient care.
- To set up trolleys for imaging procedures, both sterile and non-sterile, using guidelines given.
- To assist the Radiologists and Radiographers in specialist sessions by taking responsibility for patient care throughout the examination, observing, assisting, and comforting when necessary.
- To deal with verbal and telephone requests.
- To assist effectively with patients in a variety of environments, e.g. multiple trauma cases, ultrasound, theatre, fluoroscopy suites, mammography; maintain a professional demeanour in potentially distressing circumstances.
- To maintain stock levels, when necessary, within the imaging department from the imaging stores.
