As an experienced Phlebotomist you will be working in the Nursing Team, acting within your professional boundaries at Meon Health Practice.
Main duties of the job:
- This role will be to undertake and record venepuncture following evidence-based national and clinical governance principles.
- You will ensure samples are stored in appropriate containers with accurate, legible labelling to confirm patients' identity.

Job responsibilities:
- Ensure the patient is comfortable and relaxed as possible and confirming their agreement to the collection of a blood sample.
- Collection of samples of blood in accordance with training and procedures.
- Ensuring each sample is stored in appropriate containers.
- Accurate, legible labelling of all samples to confirm identity.
- Checking patient identification and confirming whenever possible.
- Recording collection of blood samples in a patient record in accordance with The Networks procedure.
- Ensuring the samples are dispatched to the appropriate laboratories in a timely fashion.
- Ensuring that anomalies are reported to a senior member of staff.
- Notifying the clinical team of any significant patient issues.
Qualifications:
- Previous work in General Practice.
- Qualified in Phlebotomy.
Experience:
- Experience of working in primary care.
- Experience of working in a GP practice.
