SALARY: £39,345 - £42,757 per annum (SCP 58 - SCP 64)
HITRANS is working with partners in the Highlands & Islands to develop a Health and Transport Action Plan (HTAP) for the region. The post-holder will help support the establishment of the HTAP working with representatives of all partner organisations through a Steering Group, and to then support the Steering Group partners deliver priority actions.
In conjunction with partner organisations the postholder will help shape the priorities for the HTAP. These are expected to include:
- Improving joint working between partners, to help implement schemes with a better shared understanding of issues and priorities;
- Helping share knowledge between partners, including of the scale of problems and of the effectiveness of potential interventions;
- Raising awareness of key issues amongst local, regional and national decision makers;
- Making the case for increased investment to deliver improved outcomes;
- Delivering new initiatives and improvements identified within the Action Plan.
The postholder will be responsible for administering Steering Group and associated meetings. They will also be responsible for managing a small budget to support the work of the HTAP and the implementation or business case of priority actions.
HITRANS are looking for a candidate with excellent project management skills and a passion for improving Health and Transport outcomes in the Highlands and Islands. You should be experienced in managing complex projects and working with diverse stakeholders. The role requires a proactive approach to engagement with a wide range of external partners, project implementation and reporting on progress. Ideal candidates will have strong communication and organisational skills, along with a solid understanding of the challenges in delivering health and transport within the region.
The post-holder will be based within the Highlands and Islands with hybrid working options available. The role will involve travel to each of the partner councils and health boards, and other areas as relevant to the post.
