The Flodigarry Hotel is recruiting a Receptionist to join its front of house team at its family run hotel in Flodigarry on the Isle of Skye. Set in a unique coastal location, this role is suited to someone with a genuine passion for hospitality who enjoys working in a fast paced, guest focused environment and takes pride in delivering warm Highland service.

The role

  • As Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for guests, helping ensure a smooth and welcoming experience from arrival to departure.
  • Check guests in and out, handling room payments and billing.
  • Respond to guest enquiries by phone, email, and in person.
  • Support dinner and breakfast bookings.
  • Work closely with colleagues across reception, restaurant, and management teams, using hotel systems such as Reslynx, ResDiary, Trust Payments, and Lightspeed.
  • Perform tasks across a mix of morning and afternoon or evening shifts.

Working pattern

This is a full time role working five set shifts per week. Shifts alternate between mornings and afternoons or evenings, typically covering 7.30am to 3pm or 3pm to 10.30pm. The hotel operates year round.

  • Previous reception or hospitality experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • Reliable, guest focused, and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work calmly under pressure are essential.
