Role Overview
As a Tekla Detailer, you\’ll create highly detailed 3D steel models and drawings using Tekla Structures, delivering precision fabrication data and erection plans that support our fast-paced production cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed structural steel models in Tekla Structures
- Produce fabrication/shop drawings, erection plans, and detailed component documentation
- Generate accurate material lists, bolt schedules, and CNC-compatible outputs (e.g., DSTV, DXF)
- Coordinate closely with engineers, architects, project managers, contractors, and fabrication teams
- Review and interpret architectural and structural engineering drawings to ensure full compliance with project standards
- Conduct drawing checking and revisions, addressing RFIs and ensuring quality control
- Support on-site queries during fabrication and erection processes
- Keep up to date with Tekla software developments, BIM trends, and industry standards
Required Skills & Experience
- Tekla Structures – at least 2-3 years\’ experience in structural steel detailing (UK-based experience is essential)
- Proven ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings
- Strong attention to detail and familiarity with standards such as Eurocode, BS, AISC, AWS
- Familiarity with fabrication practices and erection procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills – capable of collaborating across disciplines
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
Desirable Attributes
- Experience with Tekla Model Sharing and multi-site coordination
- Ability to guide junior detailers or act as a Tekla modeller-detailer hybrid
