The Opportunity
We are working with a well-established and highly regarded steel construction company that is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their team in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a fully fledged Project Manager with a strong background in structural steel, who is confident taking ownership of projects from initial award through to successful completion.
You will play a key role in managing the delivery of structural steel projects, working closely with clients, contractors, design teams, fabrication and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially and to programme.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Taking full ownership of structural steel projects from contract award through to completion.
- Managing project programmes, budgets, resources and delivery schedules.
- Coordinating with clients, main contractors, consultants and internal teams.
- Managing project documentation, drawings, specifications and technical queries.
- Working closely with design and fabrication teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.
- Managing subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
- Monitoring project progress, costs and commercial performance.
- Identifying and managing project risks, changes and potential delays.
- Attending client and project meetings and maintaining strong working relationships.
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, to programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Providing regular project updates and reporting to senior management.
About You
The successful candidate will be a fully fledged Project Manager with proven experience within the structural steel industry.
You will ideally have:
- Strong Project Management experience within structural steel / steel construction.
- A solid understanding of structural steel fabrication, construction and installation.
- Experience managing projects from start to finish.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project budgets.
- Excellent programme and planning skills.
- Experience working with main contractors, clients and project stakeholders.
- Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.
- The confidence to take ownership and make decisions independently.
