We are working with a market leading specialist contractor in the design and construction of unique and complex projects across the UK with a strong focus on structural timber. Our client is looking for a Design Engineer to undertake the structural design works for both steel and timber associated with main member, connection, and temporary works design to lead on technical aspects of the design and understand and communicate changes to the regulations to allow others in the business to understand.
Responsibilities
- Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analysis and construction cost estimates
- Perform construction related services including shop drawing reviews, response to requests for information, periodic construction site observation, and occasional specialized structural inspections
- Collaborate with architects and designers and building contractors on design and construction of projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
