How does working nine days butbeing paid for ten sound?
SinceSeptember 2024, all permanent staff at Highcrest have benefitted from a 9-dayworking fortnight. The concept is simple: you attend work for nine days andget paid for ten. The tenth day is your dedicated 'Reset Day' - time away fromschool to catch up on your to-do list, recharge, and invest in yourwell-being. This is in addition to your statutory PPA time.
Staff feedback has beenoverwhelmingly positive. Colleagues return from their reset day feeling moreenergised, less overwhelmed, and better able to manage the demands of schoollife. Many also enjoy the extra flexibility, reduced travel time, and cost savings.

We are seeking to appoint anexcellent IT Teacher to join our Business Studies and IT Department. Thesuccessful candidate will teach IT across KS4 and KS5, alongside contributingto the teaching of Business Studies within the department. Committed to raisingattainment, you will have the ability to motivate our students to succeed tothe highest levels. You will bring new ideas, new concepts and new experiencesinto the classroom. You will have autonomy in your teaching and be providedwith an outstanding CPD package for professional and personal development. Thisrole would suit an aspiring middle leader and outstanding practitioner, withthe possibility of a Second in Department responsibility for the rightcandidate. The ability to teach a little Computer Science would be an advantage.
IT and Business courses for KS4and KS5 are offered within the Business and IT Department, where you will joina team of committed and established specialists. The school offers a broadrange of IT and Business courses and has a particularly strong and popularSixth Form provision, with student numbers continuing to grow year on year. Ourrecently opened Sixth Form Centre offers state-of-the-art facilities, which areused extensively by students studying IT and Business at Key Stage 5.
The Highcrest Academy isfully committed to safeguarding children (polices on web). All members of staffare in a "regulated" role under the Vetting & Barring Scheme and have to be DBS cleared prior to employment.
