The School is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual to fill the role of MIS Assistant & IT Support across our Junior and Senior School from August 2025. Reporting to the MIS Manager and IT Network Manager, the successful applicant will cover a number of areas in order to provide technical support to the School, including MIS duties, E-Learning and IT support.
- MIS Duties
- To provide administration support for the school database, including data entry on computer and liaising, as required, with other parties involved in the operation of the school database.
- To assist the MIS Manager in their duties.
- To become super user for My School Portal (MSP) and SOCS.
- To become super user for School Management Information Systems.
- To oversee the setup, deployment and maintenance of the 1:1 devices.
- Monitoring and auditing the use of 1:1 devices and ensuring opportunities for knowledge and practice sharing, e.g., via CPD Workshops.
- To work with individual members of staff, departments and pupils to provide induction, training and support in the development of positive and effective e-Learning (learning, teaching and assessment), linked particularly to the developing use of 1:1 devices.
- To establish common standards of practice related to the use of 1:1 devices and develop the effective use of available technologies across all subjects and phases.
- To install and maintain IT hardware and software, including IT hardware repairs and organising external repairs.
- To assist with record keeping and documentation, for example, maintaining an inventory of IT equipment, including maintenance/repair records.
- To set-up IT facilities for classrooms, seminar rooms, etc., as required.
- To provide IT hardware and software support for staff and pupils.
- To provide printing/publishing support.
- Any other duty that, in the reasonable opinion of the Network Manager/MIS Manager and members of SLT, is required to be done.
- Knowledge of issues regarding the use and role of technology in education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A sound knowledge of ICT, hardware and software, educational apps and how e-Learning technologies may be developed, integrated and implemented.
- A commitment to CPD and keeping up-to-date with innovations.
- Willingness to attend relevant CPD opportunities, locally and further afield, as feasible.
- Proven ability to work as a member of a team.
- Ability to work across subject disciplines to influence changes in the teaching of digital skills across the curriculum would be very valuable.
- Experience of working with APIs would be an advantage.

- Salary β Β£30,000-Β£33,000 (depending on experience).
- Start Date β August 2025.
- Pension β 5% employee & 7% employer; after 10 years, 5% employee & 10% employer.

- Death in Service β 3 x salary.
- Sick Pay β 3 months full pay (less than 2 yearsβ service); 3 months full pay & 3 months half pay (2-5 yearsβ service); 6 months full pay & 6 months half pay (more than 5 yearsβ service).

- Place of Work β The role is primarily office based. Primarily based at Junior School in Bearsden. When required, you will also work at Senior School Reception (637 Crow Road, Anniesland, Glasgow, G13 1PL). Therefore, a car and driving licence are desirable.
