We are looking for a passionate Barista to join our friendly team in the heart of Mayfair at Hideaway, a casual eatery brought to you by the team behind HIDE. Located on Mount Street, it has fast become a destination spot known for its coffee selection and a café twist on HIDE's food hits. Hideaway is a fast-paced and exciting place to be. Our extensive food and drinks menu is constantly changing and evolving, paired with access to the finest ingredients and equipment, meaning there are always delicious things to be tasting and serving to our guests.

Our coffee menu usually consists of between 6-7 different espresso options exclusively sourced for us by Union Hand Roasted and Climpson and Sons, prepared on a La Marzocco Linea PB, Mythos and EK43 grinders. We also offer batch brew, an extensive speciality tea menu and a seasonal signature drinks menu. Bespoke training sessions are provided by both Union and Climpson and Sons, plus training opportunities at our sister restaurant HIDE.

Confidence adhering to multiple espresso recipes and consistent latte art (hearts are fine and encouraged) in a fast-paced environment and an interest in other aspects of the menu are essential! There will ordinarily be two baristas on shift apart from a short period at opening and closing.

If you’re keen to work with multiple coffees every day within a small, passionate barista team, then get in touch for a short trial shift to meet the team and taste some coffee!

As Barista you will:

  • Be able to work both as a team & individually
  • Help complete section set up & clean down
  • Maintain good communication between the floor & the kitchen
  • Take drinks & foods orders
  • Prepare hot & cold beverages, serving customers
  • Develop your skills to take orders using the till system
  • Have a good menu knowledge
  • Build a rapport with regular guests
  • Take on any training suggested by your manager

There are a number of benefits for a Barista joining the team:

  • Competitive pay package
  • Comfortable working environment
  • Generous discount at HIDE
  • Access to some of the finest coffee in the world from two exclusive London-based coffee roasters
  • SCA training and a full coffee training development programme from both Union Hand Roasted and Climpson and Sons, including visits to the roastery and access to cupping sessions
  • Opportunity to work special events
  • Opportunity to help develop recipes and new, seasonal menu items
  • Free bag of retail coffee to take home weekly
