We are currently seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our busy and friendly client on a permanent basis in Harwich, Essex. This is a hands-on role, ideal for a skilled technician with strong technical knowledge and excellent problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes and filter replacements
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently and accurately
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify potential issues
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot faults
- Order parts and materials required for repairs
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work
- Adhere to health & safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised workshop
Required Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven diagnostic and repair skills
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment
- Solid knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, and braking systems
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously and use initiative when required
Experience & Qualifications:
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification OR time served experience
