Teaching Assistant

The Heys School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative, and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our attendance team to help ensure that our students achieve high standards and maximise their potential, to be the best they can be, every day.

Hours: 31 Hours Per Week, Term time plus 3 days

Salary: Grade 6 SCP6 : £18,851.41 (£25,989 pro rata) per annum

Enhanced DBS checks will be conducted. Post is subject to safer recruitment process.

Responsibilities

  • Work with and supervise identified students with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
  • Provide support for other students with SEND in the classroom as required.
  • Ensure the safety and access to learning for all students to maximise their potential.
  • Support the further development of the department and the school.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS checks and a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, ensuring they are protected from harm.
  • Creative and forward‑thinking with drive and motivation to support the team and school.

The interview process will consist of doing a small teaching intervention with some of our SEN students and an interview. If successful you will be invited for an interview for the role as well as a tour of the school.
