The Finance Analyst role supports the Europe team by driving accurate and insightful reporting across innovations (new product development), tracking and analysing trade promotion spend across markets, and managing operational pricing processes for distributor channels. The analyst collaborates closely with commercial, innovations, business development, marketing and supply chain teams to ensure financial transparency, optimize promotional investments, and maintain pricing integrity across new product launches, existing portfolios and strategic initiatives.
Summary of major duties:
- Drives all financial analysis and related communications at Europe level for Innovations from Gate 1 to post launch.
- Prepares analysis and financials for review before finalising presentation slides for Europe Gate meetings.
- Works closely with commercial team during each project, oversees healthiness and feasibility of overall innovation agenda.
- Contributes to Strat Plan and Plan process through Innovation building block.
- Initiates post launch evaluations process to feed learnings into future innovations.
- Works with commercial / marketing team to ascertain impact of innovations on existing portfolio by performing cannibalisation analysis using market & competition data.
- Analyse, monitor, and reconcile promotional investments made with retail and distributor partners.
- Validate spends against budgets, ensuring accurate accruals and claims, identifying variances, and partnering with commercial teams.
- Maintain robust tracking systems, support month-end close activities, and provide actionable insights to improve forecasting and financial transparency across diverse market dynamics.
- Introduce a proper ROI evaluation of promo and DME activities to ensure optimal spending in market including evaluating competition spends and activities with volume uplifts to determine the right level of TP spends.
- Supports the maintenance of the distributor price build framework to ensure pricing accuracy across systems and operational workflows.
- Assists in validating pricing inputs, coordinating updates with cross‑functional teams.
- Attention to detail and strong coordination are essential to uphold pricing integrity across the Europe market.
- Performing pricing analysis across key markets and SKU’s (including competition) to ensure the right level of competitive pricing is achieved.
- Demonstrates strong business partnering skills with Europe cross‑functional teams.
- Acts as a strategic partner across Innovation and Trade Spend management.
- Signals risks, identify opportunities with Europe team.
- Is responsible for actively & constantly seeking improvement and simplification of business processes including financial to increase time and resources efficiency.
- When necessary, undertakes, coordinates, and delivers Europe regional level projects.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
- Must have excellent skill level in financial modelling and Excel, a good understanding of Management Accounting.
- Must have excellent Teamwork, Collaboration and Business Partnering skills since this role will involve working with a wide range of stakeholders and will involve making decisions on innovation viability and how the trade spend in market is utilized.
- Must possess high quality level of Curiosity, Initiative Taking, Status Quo Challenging, Conflict Resolution, Sensemaking in Ambiguous situations and demonstrate potential for growth and taking responsibility.
Education: BA/BS Degree in Finance / Economics / Accounting / Business.
Experience: 3-4 years of experience in a related field. Ideally, commercial finance and management accounting experience.
